The first Apple Macintosh was introduced on January 24, 1984, the year I passed out from school. The video shows how far we have come as far as computers are concerned.
For a little more fun and nostalgia check out the advertisement that accompanied the launch.
It is amazing that the advertisement was made in 1984 - 26 years back. If the same advertisement was created today it would be approved by most of the businesses.
Cost comparison: iPhone 4S in India vs everywhere else
Why is the Iphone 4S expensive in India as compared to other countries? Can someone help me understand this?
Lessons NOT To Learn From Steve Jobs - Forbes

A nice post about Doug Hardy pointing out things that Steve Jobs did which other managers should not do because Steve Jobs was an exceptional man and commanded respect like no one else.
Funniest hack done by hacker
This is part of triangulation podcast which is part of the TWIT network (which has my favorite podcasts without which my life would be so boring). If you are interested in technology I recommend listening to all the triangulation episodes and you will not regret it.
Listing to one of the episode in which Kevin Mitnick is being interviewed he shares what he thinks is the funniest hack (and I agree with that). If you are not interested in seeing the whole episode but only want to hear the hack part please click here to view that clip directly.

I would start by saying that I’m not an Apple Fan. In fact I personally do not agree with some of the actions Apple or Steve Jobs took.
On the same hand I would also say that my respect for Steve Jobs grew. I realized that one cannot be a fan yet have respect for someone or something.
There are lot of tributes that have been paid on the Internet. Some of the best ones I have found are
Bob Iger who is the president and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company has this to say
“He believed in his own heart and his own intuition and followed it religiously. He also had an uncanny way of always expecting the impossible to become possible. I’ve never seen anyone as dedicated to turning dreams and big ideas into reality. He was amazing that way”
Walt Mossberg of All Things D while paying tributes to Steve Jobs mentions that when Apple opened its first Apple Store he asked Steve as to why Apple was getting into retailing.
He looked at me like I was crazy, said there’d be many, many stores, and that the company had spent a year tweaking the layout of the stores, using a mockup at a secret location. I teased him by asking if he, personally, despite his hard duties as CEO, had approved tiny details like the translucency of the glass and the color of the wood.
In the end I would say that technology lost a great inventor and great entrepreneur whom if God had given some more years would have changed a lot of things.
Yahoo fires its CEO
Yahoo fired its CEO Carol Bartz on September 7, 2011. Carol is 62 years old, mother of three and a breast cancer survivor. She was fired unceremoniously via a phone call and had this to say in an official memo sent to the team at Yahoo. Carol had another one year to go for her contract with Yahoo to expire.
I am very sad to tell you that I’ve just been fired over the phone by Yahoo’s Chairman of the Board. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward.
Some of the events that preceded her firing were
It remains to be seen what Yahoo’s future is. Yahoo is believed to be interested in acquiring Hullu and insiders insist that Yahoo will continue to proceed with the negotiations with Hullu. it has also been indicated that Yahoo is open to takeover as well.
Steve Jobs resigns as Apple CEO - A fan’s thought
Though there have been times when I have criticized Apple for catering to the elite crowd but I was saddened by the news of Steve Jobs retiring as Apple CEO because the technology world is going to loose a true entrepreneur, a genius and a person who bought revolution in computing.
I would concede that smartphones were developed by Nokia but Steve was the person who made the technology usable for the common people. The line of products at Apple speak for itself. I would have loved to have him around for a lot many years as he would have not only pushed himself but others to make technology more “usable”.
I wish him the best for his health and I hope he recovers fully and comes back fighting fit. His resignation is going to be a huge challenge for Apple. It would be next to impossible to replace him.
“Situation Room” picture the second most viewed picture on Flickr
The situation picture from the whithouse, which you must have seen somewhere either online of offline, has become the second most viewed picture on Flickr - a photo sharing website on the Internet.
Techcrunch rightly points out that the photo is the a reality of the famous Spiderman qoute “With great power comes great responsibility”.The picture has been posted under the whitehouse account on Flickr. I would highly recommend everyone to follow the Whitehouse’s Flickr Photo Stream where you can see every picture that is released by the whitehouse.
The photo has caught the imagination of many people which is reflected in the meme’s (”Meme” (
/ˈmiːm/) is a relatively newly-coined term that identifies ideas, behaviors or styles that spread from person to person within a culture. that have been created - source Wikipedia) that have been created using photoshop to edit the pictures. You can view all the memes at The Atlantic website. My favorite one is the one with the Girl from the Royal Wedding.
