How to update Chrome extensions
just click on the wrench icon at the top right of the browser. Hover over [tools] and select [extensions]. Then make sure you are in developer mode by clicking on the link found in the top right of that page that appears. Now you will see a button that says [Update extensions now].

I just installed the update for Last Pass for Mozilla Firefox, I wondered why Chrome had never sought my permission to update a Chrome extension?
I came across this Google help section where there was discussion regarding how to update extensions within Google Chrome. After going through the thread it turns out that “the chrome extensions are updated automatically, which is nice feature to have for usual users of Google Chrome. Some Chrome extension developers and techies might hold a different view but for a average user this is much easier way to remain updated.
